The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and ask students to get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors.

Our first shout out goes to the fabulous Lady Lions Volleyball Team! The girls clobbered LaGrange 2-0, then beat Sandy Creek 2-1, and ended the night walking over Chapel Hill 2-1. The girls play in the semi-final region area game tonight in Cartersville at 5:30 p.m. Good luck ladies!

Our second shout out goes to Madison Hall and Katie Thompson for making the all-area volleyball team. Congratulations girls!! Great job!!

Our third shout out goes to this week’s football Academic Player of the Week Kaden Taylor and Star Teacher of the Week Kim Cowart! Please stop by the Media Center to pick up your tee shirt and have your picture taken! Congratulations!


Following the football game on Friday, all cars must be moved off campus. Cars remaining on campus Friday after midnight will be towed. Thank you for your help with this!

Tomorrow is SPIRIT Day, freshman wear white, sophomores wear gray, juniors wear maroon, and seniors wear black.  Come dressed with your class color or you HOCO shirt. Be Ready to Show All Your School Spirit at our Homecoming Pep Rally Friday during 6th & 7th period.  

The Homecoming Parade begins tonight at 6:00 p.m.; lineup at 5:30 p.m. KnockerBall begins at 6:30 p.m. on the football field. The main event, our Powder Puff football games, begin at 7:30 p.m. with official male cheerleaders! All events are free and open to the public!

Sophomores will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11 in the old gym starting at the beginning of 1st period. Students will report directly to the gym that morning. Students can see seating locations by checking the rosters posted around campus. Seating is based on your last name. Juniors who signed up to take the PSAT will report to the TLC 1st period.


Get Up and Move Central- Students if  you are serious about your health and would like some nutrition advice, an exercise coach and a motivational partner to help you make a lifestyle change come join us for our 5 week program. The program will start the week of October 16 and continue until Thanksgiving Break. We will have six (6) spots available per session. The second session will begin after Christmas break. Please stop by and see Mrs. Duffey in the Main Office to sign up.

Students, picture retakes are Tuesday, October 10, from 8:00-11:30. Students who were absent will have an appointment time; you will receive an appointment card by this Friday. Students who are unhappy with their pictures from the first picture day can sign up for an appointment in room 626. If you purchased your pictures, you must bring your original package with you in order to have retakes. Faculty members who missed the first picture day should have their pictures taken at 8:00 a.m.

Basketball cheerleading paperwork must be turned in by Friday, October 6 to Ms. Jordan in room 403. Tryouts will be held October 10-12.

Now is the time to pay prom dues.  Juniors, dues are $100 and will increase October 12.  You may pay Ms. Eady, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. Trumble.

Our Homecoming parade is tonight at 6:00 p.m. and will be followed by the Knockerball and Powder Puff games in the stadium. Stay after school and support your favorite class teams in Lion Valley!
