The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and ask students to get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors.


Today’s big shout out goes to the following Cross Country runners who shattered their personal records and ran their all time fastest 5ks at the Darlington Cross Country Festival this Saturday: Anna Carnes, Abby Cook, Julia Douglas, Madeline Potts, Austin Bennett, Brenden Slater, Tristan Jones, Justin Harris, Austin Harris, and Dawson Davis.

Our second shout out goes to the Marching Pride for earning all superior ratings, class placement awards and the overall Grand Championship at the State Line Showdown at Heard County High School this weekend with an overall score of 96.8. The Marching Pride also reached a remarkable milestone on Saturday by earning their 40th Grand Championship! Congratulations to all the members of the Marching Pride and great job Neil Ruby!! Go Pride Go!!!


Attention Seniors: There will be an important meeting for you and your parents on Tuesday, October 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Graduation dates and deadlines will be discussed. If your parents are unable to attend, all information will be posted under Seniors 2018 in the Clubs and Organization section of the school website. Senior dues of $100 may be paid to Ms. Sandy Duffey in the front office. She will record your height and weight for graduation gown orders, as well as your tee shirt size for alumni tee shirts.

Tomorrow’s Homecoming week theme  is "You are what you Netflix vs. Spot the Spotify." Come dressed to show off your favorite Netflix show or character or your favorite genre of music. Be sure to participate and get caught on camera for this years yearbook. Tuesday night is also Volleyball Spirit Night along with Volleyball Senior Night. Come help support our Central Lions in the Walker gym and sit in the student section game starts at 5:30 p.m. sharp. After the volleyball game come out and support Student Council members at American Pie  Spirit Night from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Cheerleaders and football players will be there to show school spirit from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. See you at American Pie!

Attn: Swimmers, Today is the last day to let Coach know what style and size suit you need. Please get him your money as soon as possible. Suits will be ordered today!

Students who signed up for Knockerball, should have received a permission form. Completed forms must be returned by Tuesday, October 3 to be able to participate in the event. You may drop your form off with Ms. Cowart in room 735 or in the Media Center.


Basketball cheerleading paperwork must be turned in by Friday, October 6 to Ms. Jordan in room 403. Tryouts will be held October 10-12.

Now is the time to pay prom dues.  Juniors, dues are $100 and will increase October 12.  You may pay Ms. Eady, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. Trumble.
