The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.
Teachers -- Please check dress code and ask students to get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors.
Today’s big shout out goes to Anya Dunn for being named a 2017 Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education. Students eligible for Georgia Scholar recognition are high school seniors who exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities, and in the home. Georgia Scholars are students who have carried exemplary course loads during the four years of high school; who performed excellently in all courses; who successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and who have assumed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools. Congratulations Anya!
Attention NHS members, There will be a meeting Thursday afternoon after school and Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. in Mrs. Fountain's room. Please make plans to attend one of these meetings.
Key Club will meet Wednesday at 3:30 and Thursday at 7:50 in Ms. Bowen's room. Every key club member needs to attend one of these meetings.
Attention Miss Leonine contestants: It’s not too late to register! There is an important meeting scheduled from 3:45-5:00 p.m. tomorrow in the band room. If you haven’t registered, bring your registration packet to the meeting!
Students interested in playing softball next year need to stop by and see Coach McKenna in the old gym. Pick up a physical form and have it on file for tryouts.
Attention there will be a brief meeting after school tomorrow for anyone interested in running Cross Country next year. Please plan on attending!
Attention Seniors: Anyone interested in participating in a Southwire and West Georgia Technical College tour on Thursday, April 20, sign up in the guidance office and pick up permission slip forms. All forms are due to the guidance office today.
FFA members- Remember to stop by for an application to be an officer for next year and scholarship opportunities! All due Friday.
All athletes must have a physical on file to participate in 2017-2018. Free physicals will be given Thursday, April 20. Have your completed physical form in hand and meet in the Walker Gym after school that Thursday.
Golf is at Oak Mountain, girls tennis plays in the first round of state competition tonight at 4:00 p.m. at home, the region track meet is at Sandy Creek, soccer is at Hiram, and we have our rising 9th grade orientation tonight! It’s a great day to be a Central Lion!!
