Coach Jackson’s and Fountain’s 4th period will report to the Walker Gym.


Today’s first shout out goes to the Central Harmony quartet! The group competed in Huntsville this past weekend. Joshawa Arnell, Will Godbee, Elijah Green and Caleb Williams won the championship and improved their scores from the last competition by over 10 points, which is nearly impossible. They have since been invited to participate in an international youth chorus in Las Vegas this summer. Congratulations, Central Harmony!

Our second shout out goes to the Central High School Concert Band for a wonderful performance Friday at the State Performance Evaluations. The Concert Band received a standing ovation at the end of their performance and earned all superior ratings on stage and in sight reading. Congratulations to the Concert Band on an incredible job!

Our third shout out goes to the JV Winter Guard for earning 2nd place Honors out of 18 schools Saturday at Alpharetta High School.  As a result of their high scores all season, the JV Guard has been promoted to a higher classification for the remainder of their season!  Great job to all of the members and Mr. Dailey for this amazing accomplishment!

A big shout out to Carolina Butler for winning the 2017 4A Literary State Championship in personal essay this past Saturday at Buford High School! Way to go Carolina!!

Another shout out to the men's soccer team for defeating South Paulding 3-2 Friday. Ricky Vaughn scored 2 goals and Jorge Lopez scored 1 goal.

Our final big shout out goes to the Central High School’s Visual Art students! Alexis Jarrett earned 2nd place at District Kiwanis and will be representing Central at State Kiwanis. She received $200 as part of her award. Ashley Henderson placed 3rd at Valdosta State University's YAM competition. She received $60 as part of her award. At this Friday's Fort Valley State University's Hometown Competition, Ashley Henderson placed 3rd and Abigail Sadler placed 1st!! Great job Central Art students and Ms. Landon!


Calling all ladies! Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 29 and get ready to smile! The Central High School Miss Leonine Pageant will be held at Roopville Road Baptist Church in the gym. Packets are available in the front office and in the band room.

There will be an FFA meeting after school tomorrow. Members, come tailgate until 4:30 p.m. with us before supporting our FFA members who are athletes in soccer, tennis and baseball. Game entry is not provided.


Attention seniors:  Senior Walk will be at 8:30 p.m. at Prom. Make your timing plans now!

Central Lions, support causes dear to you by participating in the “A Cause To Dye For” fundraiser. Beta Club will be selling authentic tie-dyed t-shirts during lunch for only $20. Choose the colors you want to include. Each of the colors available will represent a few of the most prominent causes. All profits made will go directly to Relay For Life. Hurry and buy your one-of-a-kind t-shirt before March 24th! Order forms can be picked up and turned into Mrs. Startup, Mrs. Beverly, or any Beta club member.

Any senior who has not taken an admissions test to attend West Georgia Technical College this fall should report to the Guidance Office to sign up for the ACCUPLACER.  This test is free and will be administered on Thursday, April 13 in the Media Center Computer Lab.  Please go by the Guidance Office to register before noon on April 10.

Seniors should join the Counselors' Google Classroom for scholarship information if you have not already done so. Scholarship information is posted there and the access code is 3xwj9m1.  You can also access it using the QR Codes posted around the school on the pink half sheets of paper.

Attention Wrestlers: If you are a wrestling team member, who finished the entire season and is in good standing with the team, please plan to attend the wrestling banquet on Monday, March 27 at Roopville Road Baptist Church. The banquet will begin at 7:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Coach Fountain as soon as possible.

Any Key Club member who has not paid for their pancake tickets needs to get money to Ms. Bowen by Friday. Our regularly scheduled Key Club meeting for this Wednesday and Thursday has been postponed until March 22 at 3:30p.m., and March 23 at 7:50 a.m. Every Key Club member is expected to attend one of these meetings.


Special Olympic games are taking place at Mt. Zion, good luck Central Lions!!
