The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and ask students to get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors.

Attention Seniors--The deadline to pay senior dues is noon on Friday, March 17. Once dues are paid your cap and gown is ordered. Please pay Ms. Duffey in the front office.

Attention Students: All of Ms. Westbrooks classes, except 6th period, will be meeting in the Media Center computer lab today.

The students who are going to Whitesburg Elementary today need to eat lunch during the 9th grade lunch and then meet Mrs. Duffey in the New Gym by 12:00 noon.


Today’s first Beta Club teacher shout out goes to Ms. Rebecca Smith from Calli Harris, “You’re a fun teacher and you make math really fun. I can’t wait to have you again next year!” And from Andrew Stewart to Mr. Josh Smith, “Thank you so much for keeping your students engaged, pushing us to constantly learn something new, and for showing us how to be an effective leader!”

Our second shout out goes to the boys and girls tennis teams for beating Heard County. The girls won 4-1 with wins from Emily Justice, Elle Jones, Meredith Head, Emma Yarbrough, and Victoria Richardson. The boys also won 4-1 with wins from Griffin Thomas, Bailey Lewis, Drew Smith, Ethan Caldwell, Andrew Stewart, Landon Schulenburg, Lance Crawford, Mason Harden, Blaise Bergiel, and Caleb Wiggins.

Our third shout out goes to the JV boys soccer team for defeating the Heritage School 6 to 0. Levi Cochran had the shutout in goal. Goals were scored by Will McJurry, Ricky Vaughn, Rodolpho Estravada, Branson Amaya-Cummings and Luis Delgado. Great job men!

The varsity baseball team defeated Bremen last night 6-3 in 8 innings. Noah Taylor had the walk-off 3 run homerun to win the game. The offense was led by Dylan McKinley with 3 hits, followed by Noah Taylor and Garrett Lovvorn with 2 hits each. Dylan High had a solid performance on the mound pitching 5 innings with 7 strikeouts. Jarod Swafford got the win pitching for 3 solid inning with 0 runs. Way to go Lions!!


There are only two (2) days left to complete an application to become a class officer or student council candidate for the 2017-2018 school year. See Ms. Cowart in room 735 or stop by the Media Center for an application. The deadline is Friday, March 10, no acceptions.

All class officer and student council candidates (students who completed applications) need to attend a meeting Monday, March 13 with Ms. Cowart in room 735 at 7:30 a.m. This is an important meeting, please plan to attend.

Prom invitations will be given out Friday all day outside room 633. This is the only day to pick up your prom invitation. All prom goers must fill out a prom form. The deadline to turn in prom forms is March 17.


Attention MOWR Students: A representative from University of West Georgia will be on campus Monday, March 13 to register students for summer and fall semesters. Any student currently participating in the MOWR program at University of West Georgia should stop by the Guidance Office today to pick up a registration appointment time.

Any Key Club member not attending the prom, please come by Ms. Bowen's room today and pick up a flyer about an expense-free weekend leadership training held March 24-26. This training is a great opportunity and looks great on a college resume.

Calling all ladies! Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 29 and get ready to smile! The Central High School Miss Leonine Pageant will be held at Roopville Road Baptist Church in the gym. See Mr. Ruby in the band room for registration and information.


Golf plays Villa Rica in Fairfield at 3:45 p.m. today, JV baseball is at home against South Paulding and the ISDS Capstone presentations are tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the main building atrium. Come out and support our Central Lions!
