Central High School Agriculture Department Awarded $5000

Central High School’s Agriculture Department was awarded a $5,000 scholarship grant through the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund. The scholarship will pay for J.C. Higgins to travel on the Agriculture in Ireland and England study abroad trip. Agriculture teacher, Mrs. Nikhol Dysart, completed the grant application by making comparisons between the U.S. and European agriculture techniques.

J.C. Higgins was selected to participate in the trip after he prepared a written application detailing his interest in the agriculture industry, as well as noting his high grade point average. J.C. has been an active member of the FFA organization and participated in numerous Ag related community service activities.

The Agriculture in Ireland and England trip is an 11-day excursion that will explore agriculture in other countries and will take place in June 2019.
