Central High School’s Amelia Farmer Dives into SWIM Leadership Role

Central High School Swim Team member, Amelia Farmer, has been selected for the SWIM Across America (SSA) Junior Advisory Board (JAB) for the second year in a row. SWIM Across America is a national non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for cancer research. Amelia joined an elite group of metro Atlanta swimmers helping to raise nearly $67,000 last year. The group hopes to top last year’s donation as they begin to organize and coordinate activities for this year.

The Junior Advisory Board works in tandem with an accomplished adult volunteer board that includes Olympians and master swimmers who are supporting the SAA Atlanta Open Water Swim at Lake Lanier on Saturday, September 23, 2017. The students were selected on their qualifications of being spirited leaders and influencers, and goal oriented and enthusiastic volunteers with a drive to make a difference. In addition to leading their teams at the SSA Atlanta Open Water Swim, the JAB will organize a summer charity pool swim and brainstorm other creative outreach ideas.
