Carroll County JROTC Competes in Southern Invitational Drill Team Championships

The Carroll County Air Force JROTC Corps of Cadets competed in the Southern Invitational Drill Team Championship. The event at East Paulding High School hosted 12 area schools and fielded 16 different teams. The Central High School Unit, GA-20062, sponsored two Color Guard Teams for the competition. Though the teams did not place, MSgt Henry Astudillo is encouraged by their commitment and desire to compete in the future.

Cadet Second Lieutenant Jonathan Pollard from Villa Rica High School teamed with Cadet Staff Sergeant Rico Jones of Central High School for Armed Dual Exhibition competition, earning 1st place in the event. Cadet Major Joseph Fuller of Villa Rica High School and Cadet Technical Sergeant Jarryd Ford of Central High School competed in the same event earning 2nd place.

The Carroll County Air Force JROTC instructors are Lt Col. Mike Washington and MSgt Henry Astudillo. The unit serves all Carroll County students and is based at Central High School.
