Central High School Teachers Awarded Bright Ideas Grants

Central High School teachers were the recipients of nearly $3000 in grant funding from Carroll EMC. Agriculture teacher Ms. Laura Williford received $1,000 to purchase supplies for the Agriculture Mentor Program between Central High School and Roopville Elementary School. High school students are mentoring Quest students from the elementary school in the hopes of inspiring interest in agriculture careers.

Ms. Sydney Sewell received a $950 grant to purchase a new technology for use with choral instruction and math teacher Ms. Lyn Cole received $1,000 to purchase color graphing calculators for her calculus, pre-calculus, and Advanced Placement (AP) calculus students.

Carroll EMC awards Bright Ideas grants to local teacher to fund innovative and creative educational projects for their students. Grants of up to $1,000 are presented to public school educators, teaching grades pre-K through 12, for classroom-based projects in a variety of subjects.
